This was the most original Scifi television shows of its time. Not only were the story lines good, but the acting was outstanding, especially Ben Browder. I have waited a long time for this DVD boxset to come out. This is something that I am really looking forward to watching especially on those cold rainy days when staying inside with a bunch of junk food or your favorite munchies and curling up in your favorite comfort clothes and a good blanket to keep you warm while you are carried away to worlds in another part of the universe. Farscape was a breath of fresh air for Sci-Fi on TV. It combined a rag-tag atmosphere of characters not found on any other show(Way earlier than Firefly). It had movie quality makeup and animatronics from the Henson folks who created the Muppets. It launched the careers for Ben Browler and Claudia Black. More importantly, Farscape showed that Sci-Fi doesn't have to maintain the sterile cruise ship atmosphere of Babylon 5, Star Trek Next Generation, DS9, Voyager or Enterprise to get a fan base. Farscape's only problem, was that it chose to evolve into a strictly linear story-line where every episode has a significant impact on the season as a whole. Diehard fans like me love this development, but new fans can't build loyalty to a show that they can't begin watching easily. As such, the Farscape fanbase remained flat, and the Sci Fi channel replaced Farscape's time slot with Stargate shows.

Farscape is the best show ever. I hope someone is smart enough to bring it back again. The Sci-Fi channel did everything they could to get it off the air because it cost almost a million dollars per episode. Best show the SciFi channel ever had amd they canceled it while still in production. Wow, I sure was sad when I heard that news! Moron executive decision.

Was so disappointed Sci Fi pulled the plug for the proposed 5 season! This leads a lot of unanswered questions at the end of season 4 - check out Peace Keeper wars mini series which ties everything up nicely though! FARSCAPE is (in my opinion) the best sci fi series out there. It has a perfect mix of every aspect and isn't too silly, but not too serious either! Excellent writing and ideas and out of this world custumes and makeup! RIP Farscape.
