The Office is an American situation comedy television series that airs on the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) and is developed by Greg Daniels. It is an American adaptation of the BBC series The Office and depicts the everyday lives of officeemployees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. The Office is shot in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track, and is made in the form of a mockumentary. Although fictional and scripted, the presence of the camera is openly acknowledged by the series' characters.
